In 2023, Austin Independent School District (AISD) was awarded a 5-year, Full Service Community Schools (FSCS) Grant from the US Department of Education to establish a FSCS model at three schools: Martin Middle School, Allison Elementary School, and Govalle Elementary School. Through service coordination, meaningful engagement, community partnerships, and improvements to school culture and student well-being, students in FSCS schools demonstrated measurable growth in student outcomes. In this research study, a combination of data analysis and student and family surveys were employed to examine, understand, and quantify the positive impacts of the FSCS model on student outcomes. This research will be valuable to education leaders, community organizations, policymakers, and service providers. It will also be of interest to school districts considering or implementing a FSCS model. The full research report is available by request.
